Teacher Quality Partnership Grants

  • 50 grants totaling $100 million. The Teacher Quality Partnership program seeks to improve the quality of new teachers working in high-need local educational agencies (LEAs) and high-need schools.  The program aims to create model teacher preparation materials and programs for those qualified to begin teaching.  Projects may also include a school leadership component to train superintendents, principals, early childhood educator program directors and other school leaders in high-need or rural LEAs. Additional initiatives to be supported include the development of digital education content, improvement in the quality of pre-baccalaureate teacher preparation programs, and/or to enhance the quality of pre-service training for prospective teachers.

Teacher Incentive Fund Program

  • This grant will support programs that develop and implement performance-based teacher and principal compensation systems based mainly on increases in student achievement in high-needs schools.

Impact Aid Discretionary Fund Program

  • Forty grants totaling $60 million. This grant will provide funds for emergency repairs and modernization of schools that receive Impact Aid funds.
